The Best, Best Man Speech
Ryan was not always the most outspoken person, and certainly was not a fan of public speaking. So it was understandable that he was hesitant to accept being my Best Man at first. He quickly realized that my asking him to be my best man was also me telling him that he was my best friend. Plus, when else would he be given the opportunity to try to embarrass me in front of all our friends and family? He couldn't let the opportunity slide, and boy was I not prepared for such a rollercoaster. When the time came, he seemed a bit hesitant, not sure how the room would react. Within about 30 seconds, he already had the room laughing, and you could tell he relaxed right into his speech as if his response to the first laughs was "if you liked that, just wait." The next few minutes were filled with absolute hilarity as he reminisced, poked fun, and, honestly, even roasted me a good couple times. By the time he had finished, well over half the room was in tears from laughing so much, and he might as well have had a standing ovation. It truly was one of the best moments of my life, made that much better because of him. Love you, Ryan, and I will always miss you.
